C drive issues

OK, i partitioned my E drive, took 3 gigs out so i could install windows on it, but, now, whenever I try to install anything, the default label it installs to is C:Program Files\....ect. It's just a pain to re-label everything E:\Program Files\

Is there a way i can change some default setting so all my programs install to the E drive?

Use TweakUI

Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 98 or Windows 95

I got Tweak UI, but I can't find under what tab changes what I want....to set E:\ my default install point

Ok, ummm...yeah...this program is HUGE, and there are warnings about "this program can seriousl F*CK your computer" (maybe not exactly that), can you please walk me through how to fix my "problem"?

I think I still told you the wrong thing. TweakUI only messes w/ the Programs in the User's directory.

I think this will work. However, I'd make sure from someone else before futzing with the registry.

Go to Run.
Type: regedit

Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion


On the right side, find the string called ProgramFilesDir and modify it to the desired path.

anyone eles agree? not that i dont trust Bill in SD CA, but, he recomended getting a second opinon....anyone?
