problems with new speakers

I've just gotten some new Klipsch 5.1 speakers for my computer. The speakers work fine except for the sub. I cannot get any sound from it at all. All the bass seems to be going to my other speakers. I have a SB Live! 5.1 Platinum with Windows XP. Any ideas?

Did you turn the subwoofer on?
Plugged in correctly?
Is the sub volume up on the subwoofer?

I just got some Advents and I was having the same problem...the reason for the problem was that I had the Woofer plugged into the main input and the main imput in the bass output. Try checking all your plugs out..make sure its plugged into the right jack on your sound card....Also...Ritalin Kid has the exact speakers so you might want to PM or email him and ask him about it.

There is no seperate power switch for the subwoofer. I've triple checked the connections for the inputs. Maybe a bad cable on the digital output?

First check the Bass Volume on the speakers and second make absolutly sure that the speakers are connected to the right output on the sound card.. I had a problem with my rear speakers at first because for some odd reason when I plug them into the rear channel output on my SB Live! that crackle... I think it is a SB + XP + Abit problem I really don't fell ike messin with so I just went out and got a spiltter for my main output till I can afford an Audigy card. So you might wanna try plugging both lines into the main output on that Live! card.

Bass volume? You must mean in the software because there's no knob or anything on the speakers. It's all unmuted and turned up under Creative's software. I've checked the connections several times on the card (looking at both instruction manuals to make sure) and they are correctly plugged in. My old Cambridge 2.1's worked fine plugged only into the main line. I may try your splitter suggestion and see if that works.

I managed to get ahold of an Audigy card this weekend and install it. I'm still getting silence on my sub. The center works fine in the tests but I can't get any sound out of it anywhere else. The other four are fine. Any more suggestions?
