How do I edit the bar with my docs, desktop, and stuff?

I want to put other shortcuts there.

I had a feeling I'd seen something to do just what I think you want. And its freeware to boot!

Take a look here about halfway down the page. Its called Custom Places.

I haven't tried it, but at least its a start.
