I just picked up a GeForce FX 5600 for a 100 bux...

Is this good? How good is this card? Did I get jipped on the price? It's still in the box, but when i saw i knew i better had did something quick or some one else would snag it. Are they hard to install? Anyone help.

I payed $150 for my chaintech 5600/256. The extra mem on mine is probably a waist, but it was only a few bucks more at the time.
Not a bad card. I'd place it in the low end of the high performance cards. If the only games you play are flight sims and driving games like me it's a great card.

good price for a good card, high quality/dynamic object rendering(better than my 9700pro) but don't expect it not to glich (quite often).

Just make sure you uninstall your old drivers first.

Is installation easy? Or should I get someone to come in and put it in?

If you know how to uninstall and install drivers, changing the card is easy, if you take precautions with respect to static electricity. use wrist straps to ground yourself to the case or be very carefull to be touching the case while installing the card

Send a message via ICQ to shawshank62 Send a message via AIM to shawshank62 Send a message via Yahoo to shawshank62
which card came with the computer?

if it is nvidia, it will say NVIDIA 2000/XP DISPLAY

start>control panel> add or remove programs > XXXX

uninstall those drivers, and then download the newest from nvidia.

but first, tell us what card you have.
