Systems Could someone please help with possible Video card problem?

Well in all honesty I just went out and bought GeForce 4 Ti4200 because I thought this shi*ty pre-installed video card just wasn't good enough. Was some old Rage 2+ dvd, PCI card. So i went and bought a new PCI card for my computer and I tried to play Diablo 2, which was my problem in the first place, and it does the same thing. When I had the Rage, I had it installed and double clicked on it or went to Play Diablo 2 but it goes for a second, the little time thing shows up then after a few seconds it disappears and just sits on the screen. Never opens D2, I got the new video card and it still wont, i even reinstalled it all just to make sure and still nothing. Does D2 work on PCI? Also I dont have a working sound card does anyone know if i NEED one? Anyway any idea's, i've dled every driver i can think of and still nothing.

Oh and it also gets an error when D2 checks for 3DFX, which I know shouldn't be on an nvidia card anyway but I dont understand if its my video card still or not....

So did you get a Ti4200 or a new PCI card??? I'm a little confused because the Ti4200 isn't available in PCI, only AGP.
