Marisass,
Congratulations on your new system
Youre gonna be amazed when you compare your old speed -vs- this new system, put on your seatbelt, youre about to find out what youve been missing

My first response, is: that machine should be upgraded to 512mb of ram at the first opprotunity

It is a typical cookie cuter model system, with pre loaded software, most I expect you will find of no value to you, or is a lite version, In any event the upgrade in total system speed will more than compensate for some of the misc progs that are loading at start up.

As was mentioned before in the other thread, The system will run when you get it, but it is by no means running optimally, that requires tweakin of the o.s, tweaking of the hardware (to whatever degree is allowed) So, you should be very impressed with your new system, spend some time with it and get the feel of it, then when you are ready to do some optimizing, start a new thread and im sure there are many here who will be happy to help.

P.S: when you get this sys and have used it a bit, please send me a p.m of you impression..

laterz,
dafanman

You would probably best from getting a new video card and sound card. On board video and sound is a definite no no. And also you would probably benefit from getting a 2nd larger hard drive. I know I would with all the games I download. "Legitly" of course lol.

Im gonna take a shot in the dark here and guess that youre not a game, or hardware enthusiast, based on what youre coming from.

If that is correct the only thing that will make a diff to your computing experience is the additional ram, Im gonna guess that 20 gb hd or what ever was in the other system still probably has at least 1/4 of the hd space avail?

Hey what about the sound cards built into the NF7-S and the A7N8X-DX mobo's?? I think those mobo's have a good quality integrated sound encoder etc.

Satisfying indeed.

You're gonna miss that floppy at least once in your life.

Enjoy the power.
