Do you know what brand/model motherboard you have? It has an Intel 440BX chipset.

Google says it might be a Soyo.

EDIT - NM, it is a Soyo SY-6BA+

You need to get the DrDOS 7.x bootdisk from Bootdisk.com

Get the Awdflash.exe from here

Get the 6bap2da2.bin from here

Run the DrDOS 7.x to create a bootable floppy.
Copy the Awdflash.exe and 6bap2da2.bin to the floppy.
Reboot
If your PC is set to boot from the floppy, it should boot to an A:\
You should then type in "awdflash" and follow the destructions.

Just follow the above instructions and you're GTG. Be sure to backup your original BIOS and make sure to reset to the defaults after you flash, then make any changes as needed.

Ummm..maybe it would be a good thing to inform him that he may need to prepare his motherboard to get it ready it to be flashed?

Many boards have a protective jumper that must be removed first..or maybe in the bios on some must be enabled for a flash to take place.

Clearing the CMOS just before a flash will help keep a bad flash from happening many times.

Not setting the board up properly for a flash will cause problems many times, and result in a dead board.

There are commands that can be used when flashing a bios rom chip...these commands help assure a good flash happens. here are some to look at, and the explanations can be found in the websites below.

awdflash.exe newbios.bin oldbios.bin /py /sy /cc /cp /cd /sb /r

Bottom line is, be knowledgeable and prepared. don't get in a rush..when a bad flash happens, the motherboard will be dead a long time.
