Kazaa Lite no longer Available?

I was visiting my friends house the other day and he asked me if he knew a better P2P program than Kazaa. I said to him that the best one out in my opinion is Kazaa Lite, and explained to him that its an improved version of Kazaa without any spyware. He asked me if I could download it for him and I said sure. While going to the site I always used to download Kazaa Lite I saw that they didnt have the mirror anymore. I tried other sites, even the so called official site of Kazaa Lite and it said that the Kazaa Lite project was closed and its not available anymore. I got clueless, nsince this was a shock to me. An other site said I had to pay to use Kazaa Lite. What has happened? I have been without my computer for a while so I havent heard anything about this. Please tell me this is not true..

had diet kazaa AND kazaa lite... they both had spyware/adware in em.... not that it mattered much... got adaware
