whats a good tv tuner ? ati/asus/leadtek ?

Hi

guys Im thinking about buying a tv tuner card but was wondering which one is better
I was looking at ati, asus or leadtek; I actually had a ati card in the past and I liked it just fine, but it doesnt come with a remote while the other two do
anyone had any experience with an asus or leadtek card ?

please let me know

Thank you
Dan

I tried the cheap ati one and it didn't work to suit me. So I went with the Haupauge 250PVR and it works like a charm. Pricey but I would recommend it.
(tooo early for spelling}

Leadtek makes a nice all around card for the money.
Usually about $45 to $47 at Newegg.

The ATi TV Wonder Pro w/ Remote . . . has a remote.

Look at the bottom of the page here

I was going to get an AIW Radeon 9600 Pro, but am just going to go w/ a Radeon 9600 Pro and a TV Wonder Pro.

I was also debating to get one like this one They had one w/ non-powered FireWire as well.

I have the ATI All-in-Wonder 8500. Tuner is great.

Came with remote.

I've never used it.

That's what I found as well. I HAD an AIW 8500DV, the remote was neat looking, but I really didn't see a purpose for it. Now, if my main display were a television 10ft away . . .

Hi

yes I know the PRO version comes with a remote, but its a bit pricey for me
the VE version is only $50 at newegg, leadtek and asus are both with remotes and asus is $65 and leadtek is about $50

Thanks
Dan

That's what I don't get, if you don't have a TV, how is the remote handy? If you're sitting at your PC watching TV, just use the mouse to click what you want. The remote is a pain to use.

simple, I have a sofa a couple feet away from the desk
much more comfortable to sit on the sofa instead of the chair
