ATI all in wonder tv problem

i have an ati aiw rage 128 pro
it is set as my secondary display (with a geforce 4 mx440 as first in agp)
i installed the latest drivers from ati's website, the ati media centre 7.x from their site (both reccomended for windows xp).
i also downloaded and installed the direct x 9 microsoft fix for tv tuners as ati's website suggested.

i have my xbox hooked up to the video input (as that is the only thing that can reach to test the input)
i thought that i would have to click the tv button, but when i do it says
"The TV player failed to initialized the video.

Ensure the correct video drivers have been installed and close any applications which may be playing video such as DVD or WebTV before attempting to restert TV."

how can i use my xbox (or any AV device" on my computer?

To use the TV, the AIW must be the primary display.

hmm... another problem...

i switched both my initial vid card to pci instead of agp and switched my primary display to the AIW... when my computer started... it got to my desktop.... waited 30 seconds.. and restarted... and continued the same way until i switched it back to agp first.... however, when pci was first, it did say, "new hardware found ati wdm rage theater vision" im confuzzed

thanks, but the first link is for the video out to tv, i need video in... and the second link still didnt help...
i found out that i have to set my initial vid card to pci, but when i do that, my computer restarts within 20 seconds of booting... every time... so it goes on forever... however, it says that it found the tv hardware.... if only it wouldnt reboot...

EDIT: by the way, if i switch it to pci first, both my monitors say "vga mode, not support" but that goes away on one when the memory test comes up, and on the other when the windows log in screen comes up... dont know if that is of any help

To test the Video In, you don't need to worry about the TV then. That's for the output part, and that's where you're getting your errors.

To see what's on the Video In, you have to run ATi's MMC Video In app. It should be in the Start Menu.

Does the TV Tuner stay open even w/ the error it gives? If so, you may just need to change the input for it.
I saw on ATi's site that either File Player or TV Tuner should work. With VIVO cards, there's "Video In" instead of the TV Tuner, I was cross-multiplying and dividing.
