Router keeps losing connection

Hey all,

I have had this router for a while now, few months and today it just decided to go fritzy on me.

It will sometimes for no reason drop connection between systems and the router. As for as I know the router and cable modem connection is still good and active, but te router and my machines won't talk.

I did a ping /t 192.168.1.1 and watched it for a couple hours. Every once in a while .. the ping times go sky high and it drops out for maybe 8 to 10 pings, then picks back up and works fine.

I have two machines doing this, so I know its not the computer.
I tried hard resetting the modem and router and all my machines. No luck.

Any one have any ideas? Thanks!

Initially sounds like failing hardware. Might be time to send it back, hopefully still under warranty.

Failing hardware... GRRR This is about my third router over the course of three years. I don't understand it. The router made by someone called Network Everything. I only bought cause I have owned a Netgear and a Linksys and they both have failed me so I thought what the heck, go with the no-name. This router is only maybe 3 months old, so I am gonna have to call them and see about an exchange.

I did try a firmware upgrade, but that didn't seem to have an affect on the problem.

I knew I was in trouble when I went to their support page for this model router and it was one simple page with no forums or knowledge base and their number for more support is a non-toll free number *sigh*.

Does Cisco make a home router?

If i'm not mistaken, isn't "network everywhere" mainly just selling rebadged linksys products?
Here's their site, http://www.networkeverywhere.com/default.asp

Cisco doesn't make home routers, however linksys seems to be a division of theirs that does make home products.

I would recommend them for home use.

Hmmm, the site layout looks eerily familiar (*cough*Linksys*cough*)

I thought when I bought it that it looked like an older linksys router that I had owned. The smooth bluish metal, so hearing they are a rebadged linksys doens't suprise me.
This sucks.
