Try setting it to auto detect!

If that doesn't work try entering the cylinders, heads and sectors manually as it's written on the hard drive. And make sure it's set to LBA.

you should be able just to set it to "auto"

you just go into the bios..click on "standard" cmos....which should be the first thing on top of the screen.....then set primary master to "auto"....also sometimes over on the right half of the first bios screen they have "auto detect ide drives"...you could click on that and try to get it to autodetect it.

You shouldn't have to set C/H/S. Just set it to "Auto Detect" and it should input all that for you.

Also be sure you have the correct jumper settings on the Drive. Some drives have multiple settings for different sizes on the same drive. For example:

:.. = master under 32gb.

..: = master above 32gb.

See what the drive label says and go by their settings. And aslo, what Operating System do you use?

I'm a Millwright ( mechanic).
What size does the BIOS say the HD is in standard CMOS when you run setup. Does it still say .98?
Does the C/H/S match your drive specs ( the ones that auto put in)
