I have a networked printer on my network and I can never find out it IP, I always have to guess and check. How do I find out its IP in WinXP?

probably several ways to do it...

what if you go to a dos prompt and go "new view" then I guess you will see the name of the printer..then ping that name and it will show the IP.....at least that works for the comps that have shared files etc

probably a better way but maybe that would work

or maybe from dos prompt "nbtstat -c"

you say you already have the printer networked?? How so? Is it just on a certain machine or does it have a print server?

Does it show up in "my network places?

It is just on a print server. It usually works but when the power goes out it changes IP addresses. So I have to go through the process of finding out what the it is. USually my Dad can do it but he is away.
