video and audio out of sync

I have a winfast tv 2000 xp deluxe which i use to record tv programs. When i play them back, after about 3 minutes, the sound gets ahead of the video. The longer I play the recorded video, the more the video and sound gets out of sync. If I stop the video, then fast foward, it is fine for another 3 minutes. Does anyone know why this is happening?

If that dosnt help you try using TMPGEnc and tell it to turn back the sound and re-encode it with a proper sound sync.
