no 5.1 from 5.1 sound?
I have the Abit nf7-s motherboard
logitech z-640 5.1 speakers
Windows 2000 pro
For soem reason i cannot get 5.1 sound from my speakers
Evrything on the speakers is hooked up correctly, so are the plugs going into the motherbard
under sound and multimedia in control panel its set for 5.1 sound but still no 5.1 sound
I tried soundstorm but that only lets me pick 4 channel to 6.1 speakers? It even made my back-right speaker my center speaker for some reason
When i first installed my new motherboard i had 5.1 sound for awile, then after awile it just up and cut out, anyone else know what the problem is?

Try this:
Put the black plug into to the orange port, and the orange plug into the black port.
Set in the control panel:
Create Center Channel
Center Channel 3D Pan
Create LFE channel
Have Analog Output checked at the top.
