order of startup

How can I set the order in which programs start when I boot up?
I'm using windows me.

Specifically what are you trying to accomplish here?

I want zone alarm to start before any program that will or want to access the internet. Before zone alarm starts a program gets access and as long as you don't quit the program you're in/have access.

The only thing I can think of is not to let those programs start-up with Windows.

Sygate has the ability to not let anything access until it's started.

The main problem here is that services start way before any programs do. And most of the damaging stuff that is making you do this (i assume) install them selves as a service.

Not sure if you can do this but try to make Zone Alarm start as a service and put a high prioiryt on it. Not sure if it will be the first one to load but it will be one of the first. That is if you can do this. I have not tried yet and I am not sure how and if this can be done. Some thing to play around with i guess.

That sounds like a great idea. But i haven't the slightest clue on how to make a program be called a service and load first. Anybody else?
