Systems Cannot detect geforce 4 card!

Hi all,

Well I'm having a problem that MANY people have had but I can't seem to find a solution.

I just purchased a geforce4 440MX 8x agp but my computer won't recognize it!

my specs are
Pentium 4 1.7 GHz
PCChips M935LR motherboard....(i know this is the prob...)
4x agp slot
256 MB Ram
60 Gig HD

The mistake I made was that I bought the video card off e-bay and didn't get any manual or drivers. well i've downloaded the latest nvidia drivers but the computer won't detect the card in the first place. i'm stuck with my horrible onboard video.....

if you know about pcchips then you would know that in the bios the only option for display interface is a choice between agp or pci. i've tried fitting the card in the agp slot and used both the choices but I just get a blank screen.
I've also downloaded the agp drivers from sis and i've done everything mentioned on every forum there is! still no luck.

I tried disabling the memory shared by the onboard video but this screwed things up even more. Neither display worked and I had to reset the bios.

Please help me out if you know how to solve this!

pcchips mobo usually have a jumper on mobo itself that disables the onboard video (turning of shared mem wont help). Some are touchy and need it disabled before AGP can work properly. Try it.

Hi guys,

Well after 12 hours of hardwork, I finally fixed the problem. The solution was quite silly actually. The card wasn't fitted in the slot properly! i had to really apply pressure and was scared of damaging my mobo or video card. but then i heard a 'click' and that was it!!

so for anyone who has the same problem....MAKE SURE THE CARD IS INSERTED IN ALL THE WAY IN THE SLOT!!

Thanks a lot for your help...
