Password Problem here too

We had a power failure and when the computer was turned back on, Outlook Express started showing the server address for incomming mail and asks for a username and password. It never did this before, and the password for that username or the mail service will not work. I called the ISP and they had never heard of this problem before.

check to see if "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" box is enabled.

Also, go ahead and create a new account on the mail program. Set it up as if you didn't already have one and see if can connect like that. Something may have gotten borked.

I normally would say remove the current account, but if you have POP'd mail to your HD then this will remove it all.

Go ahead and create a new account per instructions from your ISP and see if that will work. IF that doesn't work, try another mail client to see if you narrow it down farther.
