2500+ oc'd to 3200+ crash's

I read in the forums that to over clock my 2500+ barton you simply up the fsb to 200. i did this and it works fine and all on the desktop, but when i get into a game it crashes and sometimes give me a critical error. heres my comp specs:

2500+ 'barton' cpu
a7n8x motherboard
256 Geli DDR 3200
Geforce4 MX 440 pci

I checked the temp and its just fine at about 43-49C. The multiplier is at 11.0 so its 11.0x200.

Have u tried to up the voltage on the CPU? That would be the first step. Let us know how it goes.

Looks like you need to head on over to that asus mb forums to see what adjustments others are doing to get stability.

You may need to change memory timings, raise cpu voltage, raise memory voltage, and that would be the best place to gather all of that info.

Default on a 2500+ is either 1.6 or 1.65 V. I have my 2500+ running at 3200+ (11x200) and I upped the voltage to 1.7 and it runs fine.

Weird that it would be crashing like that. Have you run Prime95?

Prime95='s Search for prime numbers. Its very FPU intense and runs your cpu hot. But it also will detect any erronous data as a result of stress or heat-which means oclocked too far or need a v bump or more cooling. Or your just at the edge of the chips abilities.
