cant find file...

a friend outta state (w/o net access) wants to know:

where the file iexplore.exe went on windows98.
she did a search for it put couldnt find it. any ideas where i can d/l just THAT file for her, then send it to her via floppy&snailmail.

Cant you reinstall Internet Explorer from the win98 CD?

she got the puter 2nd hand... no CD, no nothin...

Try the repair function from 'Add/Remove Programs'. I wouldn't attempt just copying the executable over.

Has she looked in the 'Recycle Bin'? I would think 'Search' would have found it . . .

Is she having any troubles beside just not finding it? IE is tied so tight into M$ OS's since 98, I wouldn't think the PC would even run.

shes tellin me that basically all she can do with the puter is stare at the desktop...play maybe ONE or TWO games that came with 98 and look at a few pics... any more ideas??

maybe try running sfc from the start>run>sfc

it's been a while since I've had win98 so I can not remember how to use it anymore but would be worth a shot as it should be in a cab file

iexplorer.exe...can u get it download fron the net?

To find an installer is the best idea. The file could be lost, damage, misplaced, renamed, quarantined, infected by virus (?) or deleted and got empty at the recycle bin. I just state some of the possiblelities.
