Dell Inspiron question

What is the little button for thats beside the power button? looks like a little italicized "i" and there are 3 little indicator lites or something beside that.

Any ideas? I press it and it doesnt do anything, lol. Its not mentioned on the Dell quick start sheet etc.

I have it. It launches an Info program that helps you with your new laptop but mine is no longer functional now that I formated my 5100 and did a fresh install of XP

Phenious,

Curious..........have/did you notice a significant increase in speed when you dumped the pre-loaded setup & went w/ just XP?? (I'm assuming you went "minimalist" when you re-installed XP?)

John,

How do you like the 1100. I'm thinking of getting one for my kid at school as a 2nd pc. She doesn't need anything fast like a p4. Needs it most for Word,Excel etc. and needs wireless capability. Is the 20 gig HD enough? Did you upgrade anything? How about the 14.1 screen size? Big enough?

TIA,
Jim

inspiron 8200: it lauches the internet explorer, but i think it would do nothing if i hadn't installed acces direct, a small tool that lets you configure some of the buttons.
am i of any help, or am i just stating the obvious?
