Free recovery software?

I was recently shown a great recovery program that is available for free from a russian web site. The person that showed it to me got the web address from google. I have not been able to find it on google. Does any one know about this software?

Sorry did not know it was an illegal question. And did not know what forum to put it under.

Wrong forum yes, but a request to help him find an addy that has a free recovery program? Not necessarily. Only if the software is warez that he's looking for. I've gotten many free programs from people that just offer their software at no charge. It's called freeware.

jagnorm, I'm going to move this to another forum, I hope you find the link. I could use it! My old hard drive failed and I need to recover the data from it.

But a legit free recovery program, PC Recovery, is available here:

It's the old Drive Rescue (or its twin). Anyway, it sometimes works better than the program he's looking for!

actually the program i was looking for was a more of a tools program. it was bootable and provided a information on the components of the computer, like information need to get drivers.
It was a little like sisoft sandra.
But if it is illegal to get, I won't get it.

I have no idea what RayH is talking about regarding warez and illegal. I'm afraid he might have misread your 1st post.
