Will Asus A7V333 take athlon barton

Hi, I`m thinking of getting a Barton cpu but will my Asus A7V333 take this processor?

And is it worth the extra nearly £30 for the 2800 over the 2500.
I play a few games and do some video coding but not much.

Yes, it will support the barton
http://www.asus.com.tw/support/cpusu...pusupport.aspx

give that a look for all supported processors.

As far as is it worth it, that's your call. Personally I *probably* wouldnt, but I am not the biggest spender You may get different opinions. If you do a lot of DV editing it may be worth it, but for gaming i wouldnt spend the extra $$.

Thanks krohnjw that was just what I needed.

I`m thinking of going with the 2500 and putting the cash I save towards a bigger HD.

Well I checked the site, downloaded the Asus probe software and it says that my mobo is rev 1.xx not good enough for the Athlon Barton. What do I do now?

edit: No problems mobo is rev 2.00 and it states that I can use the barton with this mobo and I don`t need to flash the bios.
