No Surprise, Comcast extends time to speed increase

Thank you for contacting Comcast regarding the new speed cap on the horizon.

Comcast anticipates that all markets will have the new download speed by end of the first quarter 2004. While some markets have already receive the faster speeds, most will not see the change until the above estimated time frame. After the conversion has been accomplished, you will enjoy download speeds of up to 3 MB!

Just be fortunate that you will eventually be getting 3MBps speeds. If I wanted 3/768 on my current 1.5/768 package... I'd have to be an additional $60 a month! I'm already paying $89.95, and a 3/768 line would run me $139.95.

The essence of my message, is, be happy.

Oh yeah, you're right. I'm just giddy about a 108% increase in rates and 300% decrease in service over the past three years!

I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. "You can now achieve speeds of up 3Mbs for only an additional $19.95 a month, or you can continue to get the same great service you're used to for the same great price!"
I can just hear it now!
BTW...in case you can't tell, I HATE COMCAST!!

O i agree, I used to have em. They wouldn't let me host, upload speed was horrid. So I went to Speakeasy. Been happy (at about the same speeds, but larger upload) for a long time
