Suhdlog.dat, .bak??????

Hi!
I had uninstalled NAV2002 because of ended subscription, and have installed PC-cillin instead. I was exploring the settings and found in the real-time scanner exception list these three files:
C:Suhdlog ---
C:suhdlog.bak
C:suhdlog.dat
What are these files? I looked in the hard drive and couldn't find them. however windows search (Win98 not XP) found one of them instantly, Identifiying it as a text document. I opened it and was confronted with a garble of words, (A program scrip?) I have no idea what it is. But I think I have a trojan on the computer, Would AVG do a better job then PC-cillin?
Thanks!

Form PC-cillins (trend-micro) page.

Title: Unable to clean boot viruses detected in the Suhdlog.dat or Suhdlog.bak file.

Problem: There are cases when Trend Micro antivirus software will detect a boot virus in the Suhdlog.dat or Suhdlog.bak file, but will be unable to clean the infected file.

Suhdlog.dat is a Windows Setup log file created in the root directory of the hard disk. This file contains a copy or image of all Master Boot Records and Partition Boot Records on the system both before and after upgrading Windows. This file is only used by the Windows Uninstall process to restore the hard disk master boot sector. Suhdlog.bak is the backup file to Suhdlog.dat.

Detecting a boot virus in either Suhdlog.dat or Suhdlog.bak generally occurs when the computer was infected by the boot virus before Windows 9x was installed.

Solution: Resolve this issue using the following procedure:

Launch the MS-DOS or command prompt from the Windows desktop.

Type the following command before pressing the Enter key:

attrib -s -h -r <drive>:\suhdlog.dat

Type the following command before pressing the Enter key:

del <drive>:\suhdlog.dat

Notes:

Where <drive> should be replaced by the hard drive or partition where Suhdlog.dat resides.

Example: If Suhdlog.dat is located in drive C then use c:\suhdlog.dat.

Suhdlog.dat can be replaced with Suhdlog.bak as needed.

The virus inside Suhdlog.dat will never be activated.

Hi!
Thanks for the response! I'll remove it from the scan exceptions list. I'll post if the computer still functions
Thanks!
