Use IE to delete the stuff in Temoporary Internet Files.

You should be able to delete anything in the Temp folder safely. XP will yell at you if you try to delete something in use.

Yes, I do it all the time, however you may have to re-logon to some sites (like msn's .net passport), on your next visit.

You can delete anything you want. Are they just cookies? Use the 'Delete Cookies' button if you've got one in IE.

EDIT - Are you on a page when you're trying to delete? That could be why you can't delete all of 'em.

Cookies are .txt files. You can open any of 'em up in Notepad and decipher some of the stuff in 'em.

If you look in your 'Cookies' directory, you can delete everything but the "index.dat" file. If you delete all of 'em from that directory, there should not be any in your 'Temporary Internet Files'.
