Problem with Hotmail & other mail program.

XP Pro:
All of a sudden when I try to load Hotmail all I get is a blank page. When I use my other mail programs I can get my mail and open them but I can't reply. I'm wondering if I screwed things up when I was playing around with 'JAVA'.
I know it's this machine 'cause my other computer works just fine.
If I have to reload XP Pro, will I lose all of the programs?

I'm no expert (definition is "a drip under pressure") but maybe resetting IE back to its default settings(?) from TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > ADVANCED >>> Restore Defaults.
