rasesIII is on a distinguished road

quick question from newbie
i have Intel 536EP v.92 modem. can i use it with linux ???(not instaled yet)
it isn't win modem ( i think )but
knopix didn't recognize it !

well, the specs say it's a controller-less chipset which generally means winmodem. However, it also says OS support includes Linux, so there is probably a proprietary driver you will need to install. Could be on the driver disk or you may have to download it.

yes, it is the modem that I am using. You will need to get a driver for it before you install Linux so that you have it available after the install.
