9600 xt and rage3d

i just got a 9600 XT
and the speeds of it are 500/600 right??

but when i go in rage3d overclocker tab, it shows 526/297 .. ??
is this right??

It looks like the clock rate is 26mhz over and the memory clock rate is only 6mhz under. You double the memory clock speed, so right nwo yours is running at 594.

I'm not sure but I just got a 9800 and I was in the overclocking utility that comes with omega drviers and I saw my memory speed at 290.25 when it was suppose to be at 580. I was like WTF!, This is severely underclocked but then my friend said no, that's right.

The Radeon 9600 XT and 9800 XT both feature double dynamic rate (DDR) memory. DDR works by transfering information on both the rising and falling edge of each clock cycle.

Accordingly, many people refer to 300 MHz DDR memory as 600 MHz. In all reality, the memory truly operates at 300 MHz, regardless of whatever the vendor specifications say.

The reason why they say the 9600XT is 600MHz is because they are using DDR ratings, which is double-pumped.

300*2=600
