I can't connect to Microsoft.

I just reinstalled Windows after replacing most of my system's parts. Now, I can't connect to Microsoft aside from the website.
-MSN cannot sign in
-online authentication doesn't work (can't connect to server)
-I get an error when I try to scan for updates (no message given)

Any ideas?

NIC

I've tried 2 actually - the built in one on an Nforce2 motherboard and a DLink.

Was this a "windows on top of itself" installation or a clean, fresh start?

It's Windows XP Home.
I don't get errors trying to add or remove programs.

Hi Shawn, your problem are same as mine now. Did you fix it? I need to know how, thanks for you help.
I'm using Nforce built in NIC too, and I can't view Microsoft's webpage correctly
