Question About Spamming
If you are a spammer, do you HAVE TO put a place in your email that gives the person the ability to be removed from your mailing list?
Kinda like telemarketers, when you tell them you want to be removed from their phone list they have to honor your request. Is this same thing true in regards to emails? If so, how long do I have before I they have to do it.

if you were a spammer, why would you care if people could get off your list?
since most spam comes from stolen/hacked accounts, and is illegal, then they have no need for any kind of courtesy

The advice I've always heard is to NEVER hit the link to be removed from a spammer's mailing list... doing so only confirms that you are a valid email address, and you read your mail (even spam) long enough to get to that "remove" link.

ive hit those links a few times, anything with a remove from list link is probably somewhat more legit, since if it wasnt a valid address, then they would get errors all the time - not that i could tell a change in my amount of spam though - its A LOT - but i dont think i got more from the same people, at least anymore

That "remove me" button only confirms that your e-mail account is still active, as soon as you click it...WHAM WHAM WHAM...triple the SPAM!
Sucks, don't it? |

Somewhere, I read once, that there was this spammer that eventually got caught, and the person that caught him started posting his REAL address everywhere, so that people would send him all kinds of junk mail. It was a beautiful idea.
Wonder if it was true.

I found this out the hard way. But in the process, I found that almost 80% of the remove buttons do not work and as a result my spam increased to the point I ditched the host I had and moved to another one.
