DDR Pc3200 question

Hi everyone, I just bought a new computer from a store and it is supposed to be a:

AMD 3000+ Barton
ECS KT600-A MoBO
512 DDR PC3200 400mhz
ATI RADEON 9600 pro
etc, etc...

Well I ran Aida32 just to check some things and I noticed that according to it I had (just copied and pasted it):

Nanya M2U51264DS8HB3G-5T
None
512 MB (2 rows, 4 banks)
Unbuffered
DDR SDRAM
PC3200 (200 MHz)
64 bit
SSTL 2.5
Reduced (7.8 us), Self-Refresh
3.0 (5.0 ns @ 200 MHz)
2.5 (6.0 ns @ 166 MHz)

You see I'm no expert at hardware, but I reacted since it says: PC3200 (200 Mhz)! So I'm just wondering if anybody can explain to me what's going on. Maybe the store screwed me, and if so is the case I would really like to know.
If any more details are needed just ask and I'll post them.

/Drakon

ps. I ran the benchmark that comes with Aida32 and my computer only gets 2261 Mb/s reading and 706 Mb/s writing which is, according to the programs own list, worse than a AMD 2600+ on a Kt400 MoBO. Anybody know why?

it is techically running at 200 Mhz but it is DDR so it is actually running at 400Mhz

Yeah it seems you are a bit confused. PC3200 is the naming scheme of how many bits it will put out. Which is a better way to do it since we aren't really after the megahertz rather the throughput.
The stick is 8 bits wide, and runs at 200mhz*2.
400mhz * 8bits = 3200
So your memory speeds that are showing up are correct.

Dual Channel gives 2 times the bandwidth right?, wouldnt that ,make a 200 Mhz module 800 MHz efficient?

Jeordiewhite thanks for the info about 8 bits, I had no clue why PC 3200 was actually called 3200.

PS. How is that Radeon 7500 holding up?, Around christmas I am putting up for sale a made by ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128 for sale for around around $60 shipped.

Yeah, instead of a 64bit data path it's 128bits, twice the theoretical bandwidth.

I knew it was 128 Bit, but not that each pipe was 64 BIT.

Damn, learn something new every day.

Then it would match a 800 MHz module on a 64 Bit BUS.
