New Palm User Questions

Hey all
I finally picked up my first PDA last week, a Palm Zire
I know ziltch about PDAs, so I have a few ????
I read some reviews on this unit and thought that it came with Palm OS 4.1. I haven't found any reference in the manuals on this.
Also, I heard that you can bump the speed up on these PDA's with OC software?
Besides the standard issue apps that come with it is there other software that is a 'must have' for this Palm.

Thanks, i'll check AvantGo out.
I was looking at palmgear.com a few minutes ago, 20,000 apps for palm devices I had no idea that there were so many apps available for PDA's.
