Need Data Backup Solution

I'm running Windows 2000 Server and have about 25-30 gig of data that I need to backup daily. I'm currently using a Seagate tape drive and Arcserve 6.61 software to perform backups. I've been having problem lately with my backups and need to find a better backup solution. Also, I take the previous days backups home with me in case the building burns down. So simply backing up to another machine/appliance is not an option. I need the ability to store the backups offsite.

I was looking at THIS device and thought if it could provide a remote backup option it could work. Have one for in the office and another one offsite.

Can anyone think of any other solutions that do not envolve tape, CD-RW or DVD-Rs?

I just got a Seagate USB Travan drive and was curious if that is what you have. What problems are you having?

The drives are out BTW.

Bill

EDIT: After re-reading your post ..... maybe not.

So let me get this straight:

You don't want to backup to another PC or Device

AND

You don't want to backup to Tape, CD or DVD

What does that leave? Floppy Disks? The land of Make-Believe?

Actually, you might want to look at backing up to the web. They you can access the backups from anywhere, and you don't have to lug around a FireWire HD or 10 DVDs.

Yeah, I guess I did make it sound like floppy was the only other option..haha.

Well, I don't mind backing up to another pc or device, I just need to be able to store previous days backups off site.

Peter -- if that's the case, the FireWire HD is probably your easiest solution -- it's the only thing that will have enough storage space to handle the 30GB you're talking about. For the price, it's also your best option.

For example:

The Mirra device looks intriguing. Remote access and secure sharing over the web are nice touches. Before making the purchase, I'd look for reviews on the web however.
