optical mice

im looking for a new optical to replace the fudged optical im using now (wheel doesnt scroll pages like it's suppose to and the cursor trembles sometimes when the mouse is stationary).

i'm looking for the mouse with the most silent click.. comfortable enough for gaming. can't decide between microsoft and logitech though.

and also, how much better are the MX500s vs the regular logitech opticals?

Prefer Logitech. I'm using the infra-red ones. Still finish my job on time.

If it's for playing games, it might be worth bearing in mind that some games don't even support a fourth mouse button.

... Or even a fifth for that matter,

Also, the MX500 is around £31

so the MX500 doesn't provide higher precision over the ordinary opticals?

the intellimouse optical is good. it doesn't have a very silent click though, but that doesn't bother me.

I dont think the MX500 does but the MX700 is Fast response good precision and is on par with corded optical mice. Oh yeah and it charges in a cradle when you arnt using it Little pricey but hey its a cordless worth your money if you want cordless.

i have the 700 and love it.... it has the forward and back buttons, constant scroll up and down, and a button that opens up a menu that looks like alt tab... plus the wheel, plus it has its own charger, and its cool looking, and its comfortable, but the clicking is a little loud ( or at least not quiet...)
