IE6 adaware6

Buggy Crispino!

Had a problem connecting to a Battlefield 1942 server tonight and had to reboot ( usually does the trick ) and Adaware 6 pops up and starts running. I would have cancelled it but it was finished by the time I figured out what I wanted to do ( no I'm not that slow, it was fast! )

Suddenly, I can't get anywhere with IE6! So, figuring that the Adaware program was the only thing that could have changed settings ( at least I hoped ), I ran the backup of the quaranteened items and Wala! I'm back and running with IE6.

so the question is....what the hell changed that stopped IE from running properly....

I believe there's an "issue" w/ Ad-aware and IE6. I d/l'd a "Winsock XP Fix" from their forums awhile back. I'll try and find the link or drop me a line at evilrickatcomptechsoludotcom and I'll send it to ya. It's 1.37MB's.

This thread over at Lavasoft has the link to the "WinsockFix.zip" that you need. It will extract to an .exe and then you can run it. I don't remember if it reboots for you or not.

Thanks Rick, I got IE working again by restoring back to before I ran that quarentine. I'll have to pop over there and pick that up....if it will work with my 98SE machine
