i read alot of reviews here at this website and guys show what there own systems have and the specs. i see some guys with there video cards overclocked such as the radeon 9000m. i have a dell inspiron 8200 with a 2.2gig, 15" uxga ultrasharp display, ati 9000 video with a 40 gig 5400rpm hdd and 512 mem. what do i have to do to overclock my video card for better performance and is it a significant gain?
download the Rage3D tweaker, available on http://www.rage3d.com Bump things up about 5mhz at a time, and check for any artifacts, blurred or broken objects. Easiest to see them in a game. "Significant gain" depends on your definition of the word.
Hell, I wouldn't even consider it!!!!! Laptops Are not Gaming Machines!!! If that Video GPU gets to hot....Bye bye Laptop. It's one thing to O.C your Desktop V-Card but it's a whole nether story on a laptop.
