Corrupt programs after restart...kinda urgent..

I'm out of ideas on how to fix this problem. I did a full format on windows and it's fine. But when I connect onto the internet and try to install programs after that, it messes up after a restart. It disappears from my add/remove programs, but it's still on the harddrive. I think its either the ram or mobo...

Zonealarm and AVG installed

Thank you

restart probs

Hey..

IF your system is running just fine after a format and clean windows install, but doesnt mess up untill you install a 3rd party software...more than likely it is a driver problem contained in the other software. A hardware problem will show up during OS install, after, etc...not just after you install other software..unless, ofcourse, the other software is messing with it's drivers...

Do this;
1. click start, run, and in the run box, type msconfig.

2.click om the start tab at the top right.

3. uncheck everything that has to do with the "other" software.
Note; leave SystemTray, Explorer, ALL ScanRegistrys, All LoadPowerProfiles, & ScedulingAgent.

Also, you can leave your zonealarm stuff. if it's the free version, the files are listed as "Truevector, & Zonealarm. If it's the pay version, just look at all the paths that are to the right of the word...you can tell if it's zonealarm or not.

If the system recovers...go back to msconfig and recheck the programs one at a time to try and locate the culprit. Make sure and recheck everything that has to do with that particular program.

Your other option is to format again and perform another clean install with ALL operating, chipset, video, etc...drivers. Surf for a while on the internet and restart to see if it does it again before installing other softwares.
