Age of Mythology Freezes

I'm having a problem whenever I try to play Age of Mythology: The Titans on the Multi-player ESO site.
The game runs PERFECT, but whenever I try to QUIT out of the multiplayer screen, the game locks up on me.
I hit ctrl, alt, delete and went to the task manager and it wouldn't let me quit the program, I have to "End the Process"... For some reason my CPU usage goes up to 100% for AoM when I try to quit out of the multiplayer and I don't know why.
It worked fine a little while ago and I haven't made any hardware or software changes since then...
I've tried quitting all other programs that are running and adjusted settings in the bios and nothing seems to work.

My system is:
MSI KT6 Motherboard
Barton XP2600
Windows 2000 With Service pack 4
768mb PC2700
XFX Geforce4 Ti4200 128mb with 44.03 drivers.

The last thing you can do is reinstall AOM and The Titans and see if that works. But before this go www.aom.heavengames.com When I use to play AOM alot I used that fan site. Check out the forums and go to the technical support and you can probaly find better support there.

well, i figured out my problem.
Turns out that it was my Anti-Virus (NOD32) that was causing the problem.
It didn't matter if I quit the program, AoM just didn't like it.

Right after uninstalling NOD32, the game worked perfectly!

odd...

NOD is quite disturbing for some application, while it is running

yeah, it's too bad... I really liked NOD with how easy it is to use and all of the features it has.
