Geforce4 Ti4200

I have a MSI KT4V Mb, AMD XP 2400, Asus GeForce4 Ti4200 128mb 8x, 256Mb PC3200 400mx. About 2 weeks ago I did some windows updates dunno which ones but after them counter-strike would freeze for about a min when msn messenger would pop up and i get missin pixels in the game and in windows i get blue dots on my desktop. I have reinstalled Nvidia drivers and tried asus's drivers. I have reformatted and fresh install of win xp pro. Latest chipset drivers and latest bios. agp apperature 128mb. and in BIOS i get random characters randomly placed around. Any Ideas. I just think i need to replace.

If it's showing up in the bios, then that is long before any drivers have been loaded...Which means more than likely there is a problem with the video card...

You might try emailing tech support as Asus to get their opinion as to whether to RMA or not. Make sure and mention that it does it in the bios as well.

I am assuming this system was working fine for at least a week or more before this problem occurred.(?) If not, then you might want to consider an incompatibility between your video card and either your memory or your MB. (it happens...although not too often.)

Hope you get it fixed...Sounds like too nice of a system to be down...
