hi just a smalll problem my win98 machine cannot see my shared files on my xp machine why is this and what do i need to do. is it because my guest account is disabled because i was told this was a security risk to set this up for the other 98 machine..

Yeh guest account is essential, just password protect it.

You don't have to use the Guest account and doing so is increasing your security risks. You can create another user account using the same name & password as you use on the Win98 machine.
