No screensavers?

Hey, I'm on drake 9.2 and I noticed that when my Kmenu is set to the "default (KDE/Gnome) menu" I can see a list of my screensavers in the kscreensaver module in the kcontrol center. But when I change it bck to "all Applications - mandrake menu" the list becomes empty and it seems as if I don't have any screensavers installed.....any ideas?

This is old news. MANDRAKE 9.2 IS BROKEN.

You need to download the 350 MB in fixes, to get your screen savers (& fix other issues).

/rant mode off.

Honestly, there is so much broken, you really need to get the lot.

I suppose you could drop fixes for packages you dont have installed. I think it's all the KDE ones needed for the screensaver fix.

hmm...installed the "KDE-common" which was supposedly supposed to fix the screensaver prob, yet it still doesn't work...hmmm....

personally, aside from the screensaver prob, Drake 9.2 works wonderfully compared to the other versions (8.1 could detect my floppy, 9.0, 9.1 prob with mounting cd-rom/rw) finally 9.2 fixed all these prob, but now the screensaver problem arose...bah

I've realized that there's no such thing as the "Pefect" linux distro. They all have their issues.

IMHO, Drake is still one of the best. 9.2 is OK, as long as you install ALL the fixes. SuSE 9.0 is also up there, as one of the best. Which ever one you use, it will take a bit of work to get all the problems ironed out, and trweak it to your tastes.
