monitor calibration

I just bought the radeon 9800 np and my monitor is being really weird. I have a Samsung 19' monitor...i think its the 955DF. Anyways, i cant get the monitor calibrated. I tried using the adjustment buttons built into the monitor, but i cant quite get it to be perfect. The left and right sides of the display are not completely vertical...kind of like a hyperbole(?). Is there a way to reset my monitor using hardware or software? Thanks.

I'm not really sure at all about this, but u can try unplugging it if you haven't already. When you unplug most stuff it resets, so you can try it if you want. I hope it helps any.

i think i have an idea, do you have a flatscreen/plasma/lcd screen? If so you are not plugged into the correct slot, it the np is the same as pro on the back of your tower where the card is, look and see if you have a white weird square place to plug into. In the box your card came with you should have a metal plug piece thing. You plug the cord from your monitor into one end and the other into the back of the tower on that white weird square plugin place. Argh this is hard to explain lol. Anyways, try that and see if it helps. If not try simply degaussing your screen, that has helped me before. If thats not it check your drivers, remember to uninstall the older drivers first, dont think it just ovewrites them, it doesnt. So your pc may be getting confused. If thats not it, then im afraid its the monitor. Try testing with other cards.

thx guys, I have a Samsung 19 inch flat screen monitor. Are you sure im supposed to plug it into the white one?? I thought that was only for Tv's.

*edit*The degaussing thing solved my problem Thx. However, just to verify....i have my monitor plugged into the standard socket...not the white one...is this correct?
