Kids Question: Video Capture?

Hi there, I'm new around here, so be gentle...

I have something that I want to accomplish that to me SEEMS so simple, yet I'm not quite sure how best to go about doing it. Here's the deal:

I play a lot of online multiplayer video games. I want to capture whats coming out of my video card that I'm seeing, and make movies. I can use a software utility called FRAPS in it's full version, but it's such a reource hog, games become unplayable as it completely kills the Frames Per Second.

So.. a friend of mine suggested I use the S-Video out on my Radeon 9800 card, and put it to an s-video IN on a TV card on a second machine... and record it there. But I'm thinking the quality is going to be less than what I want. As it is, it's 1024x768 32bit @ 120Hz I would like to capture... let's say no less than 15 frames per second, AS WELL AS the sound.

I'm sure this is all possible without taxing my main gaming machine, any thoughts, ideas, suggestions welcomed.
