HELP FAST PLEASE!!

Hello! Im going crazy, need problem fixed asap.

My computer specs:
P4 1.3 256 ME Directx9.0

I have Ati TV Wonder Ve. Installed years ago to cpu pain in ass to do. Now needed to use recovery discs cause of kids and need to reinstall. This time not off enclosed disc but off recommened site http://mirror.ati.com/support/drivers/misc/mmc71tvwonder.html. With new drivers etc. Followed all instructions etc.
Whats the problem then? To start after removing card frm pci and erase prior ati downloads,drivers in order to get ready to follow directions, after restart the drivers automatically put themselves in..instead of the normal Device Managers "Unknown device or pci with question mark next to it. There is ATi devices. No matter how hard I try to clear it out for clean slate. 2. Follow instructions. The new drivers must be put in manually and when doing it is as if I am following the "For Windows 2000 when the BETA TV WONDER softwares installetion" found on the Release notes of product link : http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mmc71tvwonder.html. Because it wont do it automatically. Fine so I follow. What is problem now? Under the driver file details under each ATI controller it should say the location of drivers being at a ATIWDM driver location but it says the driver locted at System32, or System. This is true every time I try to fix the problem.

I need to get this problem fixed asap for work. Improtant business video conference coming up. Under wrk software the driver to connect to is Microsoft WDM Image Capture (win32). I try to connect with teh software but its saying cant connect to capture device. Help is needed please.

Another alternative solution is this: I have pentium 2, windows 98 in basement will this card wrk with that? Easier to fix problem that way or another 6 mtnhs to figure it out. Friend offered unopen All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro for my use. Can this be used with ME os? More or less problem this way?

Thanks

read the instructions step by step http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mmc71tvwonder.html
it says

Quote:
D) PRIOR to USING MMC_7_1_TVWONDER.exe

Be sure to UNINSTALL any previous version of the ATI Multimedia Center prior to installing this version. See the "Un-Install" section for instructions.

E) UN-INSTALL

To un-install this software;

* Click START, go to SETTINGS and select CONTROL PANEL.
* Launch ADD/REMOVE programs.
* Select "ATI Multimedia Center" and then click the ADD/REMOVE button.
* RESTART Windows.

In Windows 98 or Millennium the OLD DRIVERS will be removed automatically during the TV WONDER WDM driver installation. When the system is RE-STARTED, the ADD NEW HARDWARE wizard will appear and request drivers. All the new TV WONDER WDM drivers can be found in the following directory, "C:\TVWonderWDMDrivers"
from what i read in section "d" you need to add remove the software not just delete the pci card and components

one thing i am confused on is if your doing a reinstall from recovery disks and this is an add-on card there shouldn't be drivers nor should the tv wonder wdm program be there???

Hello! heres what I can remember..The add new hardware device does appear but I cant remember at what point before or after ati puts the drivers in automatically even when I removed them in order to prep for clean slate for new drivers. When the add new hardware device appears i believe after the new drivers are put in when I put that path it says a disc is needed meanwhile im getting it off ati support site and not off disc. So I need to update each drivers the cpu puts in automatically to correct ati device. EXample instead of ATi video capture i need to put ATI WDM video capture then device. Device path to C:\TVWonderWDMDrivers..everything done good. untill after restart when the driver file details still say the driver in another path such as sytem 32.

well I know it must be late because I'm more confused now on what your trying to say...but here goes after doing the reinstall it shouldn't show your add-on video card as anything but a pci vid card unless you've already somehow got the drivers on your recovery disc???

now when you say your getting them off the ati site you need to make sure you've got the right ones for your card os ect. I'm assuming you've d/l'ed them and are running the WDM program off disk? when you point it to the wdm folder {C:\TVWonderWDMDrivers} the drivers get copied to system or system 32 and therefore when you look in the device manager and look at driver info it will say thats where the drivers are located

when you say your removing it what do you mean?? deleting the device from device manager??? if the old WDM files are already on your computer you need to go to add/remove programs and uninstall them as well as going to safe mode and deleteing the pci card or at least thats what I'm reading from those instructions but from what I'm seeeing it also says the drivers will be auto upgraded so there might not be a need for that

Hey! Thanks for help. I have a week to figure this out so its never late. The reason the drivers got on cpu was b/c after recovery disc i put them in. The WDM program is not running off a disc. What program u refering to for work or for this ati set up? I was told not ot do anything off ati cd b/c updates on ati site. When i do point to the C:/TvWonderWDMdrivers they are copyed to system or system 32 is this good? Will this compromise needing to connect to Microsoft WDM Image Capture (win32) for work. Because when i try to connect for some reason it is saying cant connect to capture device

Thanks
Ill try again from scratch later once again
