Kids Outlook and Excel

I have a Excel file that contains contact info (one column has the first name, the next has the last name, the next email, etc). How would I get this into Outlook as contacts? I did some export dealy but it didn't put each catagory (frist name, last, etc) into one contact. Is this even possible?

Thanks in advance

You should be able to do this. First insert a top row in Excel with descriptive column headings -- First Name, Last Name, etc. Then Ctrl-A to select the entire workbook. Then Insert, Name, Define and create a name for your range (no spaces, special characters, etc.). The name cannot be one of the column headings. Save and close the Excel file.

Then, from Outlook -- File, Import and Export. Follow the dialog. You'll have the opportunity to custom map your columns to your Contacts.

Thanks alot My mistake was that I gave each column a name rather than the whole thing. (I actually just got this to work by saving the file as a csv file (comma sepearated value) and then exporting it)

Misc

Yeah, I was going to suggest the delimited route next. Avoid all of Microsoft's "smart" garbage and just get a flat file to work with.
