Team Fortress Classic updates?

Hey, need to know if i need a steam update to play tfc online. If i can play with the valve update then do i need steam too?

Steam is the only way you can play HL TFC DOD CS and the other valve mods. You will have to use steam if you want to play. Get the full cache install (700MB+) it will save you lots of headaches.

Well...on dial up it will take ages...Is it possible to get you or someone to DL it for me, burn it and send off to me. I will pay up to $5 for it.

Ive always like playing this type of game. Practiced it alone. But nobody plays it at the cybernet though I dont seem to know why but i think its a very good game.

monk, don't lie to him. The MAJORITY of all Half-Life servers are still on WON and not Steam. Steam has like maybe 1000 servers while WON (the old system) still has like 26000.

Avoid going over to Steam at all cost. Nothing works on steam because they changed critcal stuff in the source code. Most plugins don't work on steam because of it. Such plugins include statsme which crashes the server, that thing that shows who you are looking at (made by hullu) which crashes the server, all bots crash the server, certain AMX plugins don't work.

Just don't get Steam, it's not worth it.

Currently, there are 21 TFC servers on Steam and 284 I can see on WON.
