ok, I'm going to get a FX5200, hold on don't whine yet...........
I'm not gaming, a little PS, DVD, pictures surfing, gimp (soon ) ok an occasional game that comes with maximumpc magazine
upgrading from Geforce2 64Mb mx/mx 400 ( also in my price range)
AMD 1800+
K7S5A v.1
512 DDR PC2100
WD 40gig 7200rpm
Maxtor 80gig 7200rpm
DVD-ROM
CD burner
Linksys 10/100 nic

For what you do with your comp, a 5200 should serve you just fine.

I know you said you don't game, but from the benchmarks I've read the Prolink card performs better than other FX 5200s, although it doesn't overclock very well.
