Why does IE want to save images as *.bmp

Anyone know why it wants to do this. When I want to save a *.jpg instead of saving it as the name of the file with the *.jpg extension it simply wants to save it as untitled.bmp. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

Try clearing your history and temporary internet files.

There's a microsoft knowledge base article about that. It said clear all of your temporary internet files, if you can get them to clear. I had to go in and manually delete them on one guys pc, then cleared everything from the internet options menu.
