sound card issue

Hello gang
I trust you all had a great Thanksgiving!
I spent some of my time building a friends daughter a new pc.
Cheapo case w/good airflow 400 watt ps $20
New but legacy mainboard with no drivers
( ASUS CUBX-L/WOA )
I picked up at justdeals.co for $18
A new PIII 500 from COMPGeeks $25
used CDROM & FDD & 6GB HDD $10
new 56K FAX Modem & New NIC $0
used HS/Fan $0
2x 128 SDRAM pc100 from OMAR $16
used VooDoo3 16 meg (pull) works $0

Creative audigy AWE64Gold (ISA) (pull) $0
running WINXP Pro $priceless

so for a grand total of = $89
I have her a nice little cow to replace here
old P133 w/2GB HDD & 14K modem (lol)

Here is the problem ((NO AUDIO))
You know how XP and audio cards can be

Can anyone put me on the right Driver for this card and XP
My audio benchmark test said I had driver version 1290
Which I got from a serch.

Thanks for reading and any consideration is appreciated

hmmm might not be drivers for that card for xp . isa sound is old . did you try NT drivers maybe ? i did a quick search and can't find xp drivers .

spend 5.50$ and go get a cheapo pci sound card :P almost worth it than spending all the time to hunt down drivers .

i have used pci micro before and haven't had a problem with them .

XP is supposed to work with ISA stuff as long as its plug and play. The quote from the resource kit is "Windows XP Pro does not support non-plug and play ISA devices, although they work if configured manually"

Is there possibly some jumper to be set for this IRQ or that?

Does it just show it not having a driver or is it not detected at all or is it having a conflict?

(of course a cheap new soundcard can be had for less than $10 if worse comes to worse)
